Description
These omega-3 packed treats will have your pup doing happy zoomies while supporting their skin and coat health naturally!
Prep Time: 20 minutes | Cook Time: 15-20 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Makes: 12-15 balls

Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cooked salmon, flaked (completely safe for dogs)
- 1 cup cooked brown rice
- 1/2 cup cooked sweet potato, mashed
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (great for fresh breath!)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp ground flaxseed (extra omega-3 boost)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper—trust me, cleanup is so much easier this way.
- In a large bowl, mix together your cooled salmon, brown rice, sweet potato, parsley, beaten egg, and flaxseed until it smells like pure doggy heaven.
- Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized portions (if your pup can wait that long) and place them on your prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the balls are firm and slightly golden—about the time it takes Amber to pace the kitchen impatiently.
- Always let cool completely before serving (hot treats can burn their mouths).
Notes:
- Always let cool completely—I learned this the hard way when Amber burned his tongue on fresh-from-the-oven treats
- These work best when your salmon is completely cooled before mixing
- Amber prefers these slightly soft, but you can bake longer for crunchier texture
Storage Tips:
- Store in the fridge for up to 5 days in an airtight container
- Don’t leave these out—they’ll spoil without preservatives
- Toss if you see any mold (better safe than sorry with homemade treats)
What Makes This Recipe Special:
The combination of omega-3 rich salmon and fiber-packed brown rice creates treats that actually improve your dog’s health while they enjoy every bite. Way better than store-bought treats with mystery ingredients, plus you’ll notice that gorgeous coat shine within a few weeks!

- Senior Dog Version: Add 1 tbsp turmeric for extra joint support (perfect for dogs like Amber)
