Description
Creamy, naturally sweet frozen treats that keep your pup cool and happy—perfect for those hot summer days when nothing else will do!
Prep Time: 5 minutes | Freezing Time: 2-3 hours | Total Time: 3 hours | Makes: About 12-15 pieces (depending on mold size)

Ingredients
- 1 cup plain yogurt (Greek yogurt works best for texture—provides probiotics for gut health)
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree (plain, not pie filling—rich in fiber and naturally sweet)
- 1 tablespoon raw honey (adds natural sweetness—completely safe for dogs in small amounts)
- 1/4 cup rolled oats (provides perfect crunchy texture and essential vitamins)
Instructions
- Mix your base in a bowl until your dog starts getting curious about the kitchen activity. Combine yogurt, pumpkin puree, and honey until you have this gorgeous orange-cream mixture.
- Stir in oats until they’re evenly distributed throughout—you want every piece to have that perfect balance of creamy and crunchy.
- Pour into molds slowly to avoid air bubbles—ice cube trays or silicone molds work perfectly. Fill right to the top because this mixture doesn’t expand when frozen.
- Freeze for 2-3 hours until completely solid and they pop out of molds easily (overnight works great too if you can wait that long).
- Pop them out and serve to one very happy, cool pup—preferably outside or on a towel because these can get delightfully messy!
Notes:
- Greek yogurt creates better frozen texture than regular yogurt
- Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for easier mixing
- Every dog has different preferences—some love them rock-solid, others prefer them slightly softened
Storage Tips:
- Store in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to two months
- Layer with parchment paper if stacking to prevent sticking together
- These maintain their quality much longer than store-bought frozen treats
- Let them soften for a minute or two if your dog prefers a less frozen texture
What Makes This Recipe Special:
These frozen bark pieces combine the probiotic benefits of yogurt with the digestive support of pumpkin, creating treats that are both cooling and nutritious. The oats add satisfying texture while providing essential vitamins, making every lick count toward your dog’s overall health.
Mix It Up (Dog-Safe Variations):
Extra Hydration: Add 1 tablespoon low-sodium chicken broth for extra appeal and moisture—perfect for really hot days when your pup needs extra hydration.
Antioxidant Boost: Mix in a handful of blueberries for extra antioxidants and natural sweetness that pairs beautifully with pumpkin.
Layered Delight: Create striped bark by freezing in layers—half mixture, sprinkle of oats, freeze for an hour, then add remaining mixture for a fancy presentation.
