Description
Cooling frozen treats that combine digestive-supporting pumpkin with heart-healthy banana—perfect for hot summer days!
Prep Time: 5 minutes | Freeze Time: 3-4 hours | Total Time: 4 hours 5 minutes | Makes: 12-15 sticks

Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ripe banana, mashed (the riper, the sweeter!)
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, plain (not pie filling—check the label)
- 1/4 cup plain low-fat yogurt (probiotics for gut health)
- 1 tablespoon raw honey (natural sweetness that’s dog-safe)
- 1/4 cup water (helps achieve perfect consistency)
Instructions
- Make sure your banana is really ripe for the smoothest blend and best flavor.
- In a blender, combine mashed banana and pumpkin puree first for even mixing.
- Add yogurt, honey, and water—blend on high for 45 seconds until completely smooth.
- Pour mixture into ice cube trays, silicone molds, or popsicle stick molds.
- Freeze for 3-4 hours minimum, or overnight for rock-solid treats.
- Pop treats out of molds and serve immediately, or store in freezer.
Notes:
- Always supervise dogs with frozen treats to prevent gulping
- Let treats soften for 3-5 minutes if they’re too hard from your freezer
- Amber loves these completely frozen, but adjust firmness for your pup’s preferences
Storage Tips:
- Store in airtight container or freezer bag for up to 2 months
- Keep frozen at all times—they’ll get messy as they thaw
- Perfect for stocking up before heat waves hit
What Makes This Recipe Special:
Pumpkin provides fiber that supports healthy digestion during hot weather when dogs drink more water. Bananas contribute potassium for heart health during heat stress, while yogurt delivers probiotics that support gut health when dogs’ systems work overtime to stay cool.
Mix It Up (Dog-Safe Variations):
- Extra Hydrating: Add 1 tablespoon coconut water for more cooling power
- Sensitive Stomach: Use Greek yogurt for extra probiotics and protein
- Fancy Presentation: Layer with plain yogurt for striped effect (perfect for my 8-year-old Amber’s special occasions)
