Fresh berry and yogurt pineapple cubes on a black plate, with blueberries and raspberries, perfect for healthy desserts or snacks.
Delicious berry and yogurt pineapple cubes garnished with fresh blueberries and raspberries, ideal for healthy snacks and desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup coconut kefir (unsweetened—check labels carefully for no added sugars)
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries—all completely safe for dogs)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional—raw honey works best, but can be skipped entirely)
  • Silicone molds (bone shapes make them extra special for your pup)

Instructions

  1. Blend to perfection – Add coconut kefir to blender first, then berries and honey if using. Blend on high for 60 seconds until completely smooth and gorgeously colored.
  2. Fill those molds – Pour mixture into silicone molds, filling each about 90% full to allow for expansion during freezing (learned this the messy way).
  3. Remove air bubbles – Tap molds gently on counter to get rid of air pockets for prettier, more solid treats.
  4. Freeze and wait – Place in freezer for at least 4 hours until completely solid. Resist the urge to check every hour (though Amber will encourage you to).
  5. Pop and serve – Remove from molds and serve immediately. Have a towel ready because these can get wonderfully messy as they soften!

Notes:

  • Start with thicker kefir for best freezing results—strain thin kefir through cheesecloth if needed
  • Honey is optional—many dogs prefer the natural berry tartness without added sweetness
  • Serve outside or on towels to contain the delicious mess as they melt

Storage Tips:

  • Store in freezer bags with dates for easy organization and freshness tracking
  • Keep frozen for up to 2 months in airtight containers
  • Don’t refreeze once melted—food safety is crucial with dairy products
  • Make double batches when you have extra berries to take advantage of seasonal sales

What Makes This Recipe Special:

The combination of probiotic-rich coconut kefir and antioxidant-packed berries creates a treat that actively supports digestive health and immune function while providing cooling summer relief. Unlike commercial frozen treats, these blocks deliver real nutritional benefits alongside the pure joy of a frozen snack.

Mix It Up (Dog-Safe Variations):

Tropical Twist: Use frozen mango chunks instead of berries for a different flavor profile (completely safe and naturally sweet)

Single Berry Special: Use only blueberries for dogs with sensitive stomachs—gentler but still packed with antioxidants

Extra Probiotic Power: Use the thickest coconut kefir you can find for maximum beneficial bacteria (perfect for dogs with digestive issues like Amber)
